Since websites are usually heavily design based, my website development process follows many of the steps found in my graphic design process.

However, after a site is designed/developed, a few other steps are also needed:

Test and refine the website: During the development process, it’s important to test the website to ensure that it is functional and user-friendly. The developer may need to make adjustments and refinements based on feedback from the client or user testing.

Launch the website: Once the website is complete, I launch it on the internet so it can be publicly viewable. This involves registering a domain name, hosting the site, submitting the website to search engines, etc.

Maintain and update your website: After the website is launched, I can ensure (if requested) that it is maintained and updated as needed. This might involve adding new content, fixing any technical issues, and making updates to the design or functionality. I speak more about that in the “Hosting” section of my services.

In 2014, I developed St. Lucia Times – a news website which currently receives over 1 million page views per month. This website has a number of integrations including (but not limited to):

• OneSignal push notifications

• Cloudflare (security and performance)

• Redis and caching

• New Relic

• 24/7 monitoring

• Daily website & server backups (multi-location for redundancy)

• Google Analytics 4
